Our 35 hotel rooms are all unique and offer simple, relaxed comfort and respite. Each room has been thoughtfully considered for the modern traveler, yet historical charm resonates throughout.
More than just a hotel.
The Catahoula is more than just a hotel – it's a coffee shop, a pisco bar, a gathering place, and a home away from home. We do everything with our guests and visitors in mind, and are pleased to offer the following amenities.
At the Catahoula, we strive to produce truly special cups of coffee. Helping us along the way are our partners at PT's Coffee. We receive deliciously and conscientiously sourced coffees that are recently roasted to ensure top freshness. Our staff brews them with care using modern equipment from Seattle based Synesso and a state-of-the-art batch dripper by Fetco. We cup each of our selections, making delicate adjustments throughout the day to provide a true taste of terroir. The coffees are complemented by the freshest dairy from Mauthe's Progress Milk Farm in McComb, Mississippi. Our presentation and service finishes with porcelain elegantly tailored for specialty coffee by New Zealand's Acme Cup Co.
Our goal is to expose our guests to Peruvian cocktail culture in an environment where you can’t help but enjoy yourself. As with the food and coffee, we care about our cocktails and go to great lengths to make sure they are interesting, fresh, and yes, even exciting. We want to offer New Orleans something truly unique.
The backbone of the cocktail program is pisco, a Peruvian liquor made from grapes. Pisco's history goes back 500 years and is the cornerstone of many important classic cocktails. What makes it so special, though, is how it is produced. Every drop of liquid in a bottle of pisco came from a grape, and nothing else is allowed. This level of purity is unheard of for a spirit category, and for that reason making pisco is truly an art form, and an exciting opportunity for us at the Catahoula.
We believe that Peruvian cuisine is the next big culinary wave that is already starting to take the world by storm, and we are excited to bring this cuisine to New Orleans. We will offer authentic Peruvian small plates with a nod to local ingredients. We care about sourcing responsibly, and have created relationships with local farmers to grow the Peruvian ingredients that Louisiana doesn't traditionally offer. The food will be high in quality, extremely fresh, and served in a casual atmosphere with the spirit of a cafe.
Enjoy a private oasis in the heart of downtown New Orleans on our rooftop terrace. Sip tiki-inspired cocktails, listen to live music and enjoy the breeze under the palm trees.
The Rooftop Terrace is a perfect gathering spot for a casual get together or a more formal private event. See our events page for more information on private rentals.
